Scan Studio Capture Software

True Full-Frame Image Capture

Scan Studio Capture records the full native output of the Triton 2 camera at 4096 × 3000 pixels, preserving maximum image detail and dynamic range.

Users can select between:

  • Full-frame capture, optimized for clean scans without perforations

  • Overscan capture, allowing perforations to be included for advanced stabilization and alignment

This approach ensures the highest possible image quality while giving operators full control over framing and workflow.

Real-Time Camera Setup & Monitoring

Before capture begins, Scan Studio Capture provides a real-time live view mode for precise system setup.

  • Verify framing and alignment

  • Select full-frame or overscan modes

  • Confirm camera positioning before capture

Once setup is complete, the capture process becomes repeatable and predictable—reel after reel.

Organized, Frame-Accurate Capture

Scan Studio Capture is designed for professional environments where organization matters.

  • Create a dedicated folder for each reel

  • Each frame is captured individually and written directly to the selected folder

  • A clean, consistent file structure that integrates seamlessly into restoration and post-production workflows

Controlled Capture Workflow After Setup:

  • Select the destination folder

  • Initiate capture

  • Each frame is recorded at full resolution with precision timing

The software stays out of the way and lets the Scan Studio Pro hardware do what it does best.

Post-Capture Review & Playback

Following capture, the View tab allows scanned film to be reviewed as a motion picture.

  • Select the correct frame rate (FPS)

  • Preview motion and framing

  • Evaluate stability before final output

This step ensures confidence before rendering and delivery.

Professional-Grade Stabilization

Scan Studio Capture offers stabilization tools designed specifically for film scanning.

Adaptive Crop Stabilization
Ideal for full-frame scans without perforations. This method stabilizes motion while maintaining a consistent and controlled image crop.

Perforation-Referenced Stabilization
When overscan is used, users can mark film perforations to create a mechanical reference for stabilization, producing extremely stable results.

Precision User-Defined Cropping

An intuitive manual crop tool allows operators to define the final image area with accuracy.

  • Remove perforations or edge artifacts

  • Preserve maximum usable image area

  • Maintain consistent framing across a project

Industry-Standard Output Formats

Final output can be rendered to:

  • AVI

  • MP4

  • MOV

Compatible with professional editing, color grading, and archival systems.
